Car Found – 2004 Nissan Xterra

After searching far and wide across the great city of Chicago, I settled upon a 2004 Nissan Xterra, as soon as I saw it, I knew and here she is:

And of course a video of the Xterra (I’m having a great time with iMovie, Macs are amazing!)

A little bit about the car:

2004 Nissan Xterra 4X4 XE
Automatic
Camo Green Exterior with Grey Interior
V6 3.3L Engine
15-19 Miles per Gallon
5500 lb Towing Capacity

It rides nice, got good mechanical reviews and has a following online with Xterra clubs.  I may really get into this car and know it will be lots of fun off road.  It’s my first 4X4 and I’m looking forward to the fun.

The owner of the Xterra, Sebastian, bought the car new and had no problems with it.  Having recently paid off the car’s loan, he was eager to get a newer Xterra, in my favorite of colors, yellow. With just under a 100,000 miles, I wanted to get an inspection done, unfortunately the weekend at the Nissan Dealership left no appointments and people were lined up to buy the car, literally, a guy came over to see it while I was looking at the car, it seems it was a good buy.  Quickly I searched for a mechanic that could look over the car that day, Car X was a local chain and looked decent so we sat for a hour or so while the mechanic took it through the paces and hooked it up to the computer.  Two problems came up, first the front brakes on the Xterra were in need of replacement and second the wheel lock on the tires did not work.  Both were an easy fix and the time gave me a chance to talk with Sebastian.  He worked for Sherman William’s paints, specifically in the polymers division for things like boat bottom paints.  The test them in labs that simulate the elements and test the ingredient supplies to ensure the paints perform as originally specified.  Soon the car was done, I had to return the rental car back to the airport and get a taxi.  Having been a success, I booked into a Marriott Courtyard at a great weekend price and looked forward to a fantastic, restful sleep, car found, now onto my travel trailer home for the summer cross country adventure.
