Little Greenwood
After seeing a crowd on Greenwood Reservoir (there must have been 6 boats!) we decided to try a smaller part of the lake across the road which I dubbed Little Greenwood. It was a precarious launch of the trailer with not much more than a beach and a couple ruts of a road down. But we got the boat in:
We made our way around the lake seeing a dam. Mining companies built Greenwood Reservoir to supply iron ore mining operations in the area.
Here are some drilling holes used to blast the rock out:
We picked up a couple of Lawry’s Pasties. This traditional Upper Michigan food is one of my favorites. It has a buttery flakey crust with a filling of carrots, potatoes, rutabagas, parsley and pork and/or beef.  Lawry’s makes a great pasty as well as the Lutheran Church that has bake sales every once in a while.
Ketchup is essential and here is Mr. B enjoying his pasty:
While it seemed Little Greenwood was devoid of fish, I managed to catch a nice one:
Overall I relaxed in the beautiful surroundings and at times nearly dosed off to the sound of the lapping waves against the boat.
