With the weather cloudy and cool some good soup sounded good and I missed the great Vietnamese soups of Oki Doki Costa Mesa in Orange County, so in search of a San Diego twin I tried out OB Noodle House in Ocean Beach, San Diego.
Inside the OB Noodle House had a mix of a bar and tables, and a crowd packed in on this Monday afternoon:
I stared with some Fresh Vegetarian spring rolls, no oil, and low carb: Tofu, lettuce, rice noodle vermicelli, mint and prickle carrots all wrapped in delicious rice paper and paired with our special peanut plum hoisin dipping sauce:
The spring rolls perfectly satisfied my craving and for the main course I ordered the #18 Vegetarian broth with tofu and fresh vegetables.  This is a traditional Phở (Pronounced “fuhâ€): A healthy and very popular rice noodle soup that is richly flavored, complicated yet deliciously prepared. Topped with onion and cilantro.
Served with from what I could tell was fresh Thai basil leaf, bean sprouts, jalapenos and lime on the side.
I put in a few bean sprouts, picked off a couple leaves of Thai Basil and and squeezed the lime over the steam soup. Â With the first bite, I knew this was a place I would be coming back to again and again.
